FRIDAY – SUNDAY, APRIL 25 – 27, 2025
INSTRUCTOR: AKIVA MEOLA
Join us for our very first DOUBLE SIDED DAGGER class inspired by the Iron Dagger from Skyrim: Elder Scrolls V. If you have ever played the game, chances are you’ve made hundreds of these to increase your blacksmith level, so come and channel your inner Dragonborn in REAL LIFE with this weekend class.
Over the weekend we will forge, grind, and polish a double sided dagger, forge and fit a guard, create a leather stacked handle, and assemble it using historical methods commonly used in swordsmithing.
Akiva recommends taking either the bushcraft, petty chef or sanmai class in order to improve your chances of taking home something truly high quality. There will be extensive forging and grinding required so come prepared. Akiva recommends bringing earbuds for your time at the grinder. Akiva has been forging for 10 years now, and works primarily as a bladesmith. With a specialty in forged-finish culinary knives, Akiva takes a lot of inspiration from Japanese methodology and tradition, along with his own personal taste for compound curves, forge texture, and sculpted handles.
As a full time bladesmith, Akiva forges, grinds, polishes and handles sculpts each knife individually. His knives can be found at purveyors like Element Knife Co, Carbon Knife co, and have been featured on Tasting History with Max Miller. Akiva also has experience in the architectural/decorative blacksmithing world, having worked with Otto Engel of innovation forge on large scale forged railings and decorative elements.
