Renaissance Historic Exteriors in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for a carpenter to work on historic buildings.

About Renaissance (Bringing New Life to Historic Building Systems):
Renaissance is a nationally recognized commercial and residential historical restoration company specializing in traditional exterior historical building systems. Our craftsmen work on roofing systems, structural and finish carpentry, masonry, architectural sheet metal, and other historical systems not commonly found in current construction methods. Our clients include State Capitols, Churches, Universities, Libraries, Private Estates, and properties of all types on the National Register of Historic Places. Qualifications for Skilled Heavy Timber Framing Carpenter:
  • 2-4 or more years of wood framing and finish carpentry experience on both residential and historical projects.
  • Possess your own hand tools (hammer, speed square, pencil, carpenter’s pouches, etc.)
  • Ability to work closely with the roofing crew and project coordinator.
  • Ability to assist lead crew members with framing windows and doors.
  • Be able to measure, cut, and correctly fasten wood structures per project specs.
  • Shape or cut materials using hand tools, machines, or power saw.
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials.
  • Build or repair doors and frameworks using woodworking machines, carpenter’s hand tools, and power tools.
  • Able to perform all steep slope roofing activities (set and climb ladders, carry 50 lbs, etc…)
  • Have excellent communication and outstanding customer service skills.
  • Multitasked.
  • Technical competency.
  • Familiar with and able to use basic email, Word, and Excel Documents
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Clean, Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a nationwide background check, drug test, and physical.
  • Able to work 10-12 hour days, year-round.
  • Travel is a must

Compensation:
  • Hourly plus Commissions at Competitive Rates based on Experience.
