We will learn a variety of joints, their strengths and weaknesses, and how to implement them into furniture making and design. This class will explore the art and technique of wood joinery, while focusing on hand tool techniques. At the end of class, students will leave with a small decorative box showcasing their new joinery skills. With a maximum of 7 students, you’ll receive personalized instruction in a fully equipped woodworking college with state-of-the-art work benches.

You will learn the following joinery:

  • Dovetail
  • Half-blind Dovetail
  • Mortise and Tenon
  • Through Wedged Tenon

  • Marking Gauge
  • Marking Knife
  • Square (4”-6”)
  • Dovetail Saw
  • Crosscut Saw
  • Bevel Gauge
  • Measuring Tape
