FreeJoin us above Aspen, CO as we return for our fourth season at the Hunter Creek Valley to continue our work on the rustic Hunter Creek Miner’s Cabin!

SESSION DATES: August 24-29, August 31 – September 5, September 7-12, September 14-19, and September 21-26
CAPACITY PER SESSION: 7 Volunteers + 1 Kitchen Helper

HistoriCorps is committed to educating and training volunteers in preservation skills, with an overarching mission of inspiring a preservation ethic in all those involved. Learning and working alongside expert HistoriCorps field staff and other volunteers while applying the traditional skills necessary to restore the Hunter Creek Miner’s Cabin, you will assist to:
- Improve the Miner’s Cabin foundation
- Repair or replace the Miner’s Cabin sill and spandrel logs; treat with borates and preservative
- Replace Miner’s Cabin key wall logs on various elevations
- Prepare for Miner’s Cabin Phase 2 – 2026 (roof reconstruction)
- If time allows: prime and paint interior of the Roadhouse
Please note: Tasks vary by day and by week, depending on a variety of factors including: weather, project priorities, previous groups’ work, and more. Though it is likely you will get to learn and practice most or all of the above tasks, it is not guaranteed. The higher percentage of the scope a particular task is, the more likely you will get to practice it
