The California Preservation Foundation (CPF) is pleased to announce the seventh program of our My Path to Preservation series (formerly the Emerging Professional Mentorship Series) taking place on Tuesday, March 18th from 12pm-1pm Pacific. The link to register for this free program is californiapreservation.org/yep.

Every other month we will be interviewing and hosting a Q&A with an individual from a variety of preservation-related professions, with the goal of sharing insights with students, interns, graduates, emerging professionals, and anyone interested in a career in preservation to learn about the variety of pathways and opportunities available.

This month’s professional — Russell Kehl, SE, Principal and President at Structural Focus — will share a brief presentation, with the remainder of the program designated for Q&A from our moderators and audience. More information on this month’s guests:

A licensed California Structural Engineer with over 26 years of experience, Russell joined Structural Focus in 2001. As President of the firm, he leads a strong team providing engineering services throughout southern California: including historic preservation and adaptive re-use; ground-up design; seismic evaluation, assessment, and retrofit; structural analysis; computer modeling; additions; and renovations and tenant improvements.

Clients include studio and media production facilities, cultural and educational facilities, civic/public spaces, and commercial office structures. Some of Russell’s representative projects include the Huntington Library Rose Garden Tea Room, Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art, Wilshire Boulevard Temple, LA Union Station, Manzanar, and John Anson Ford Amphitheatre.
