The Moore-Lindsay House is excited to be hosting the City of Norman Oklahoma’s Wood Window Workshop this spring!
Original wood windows are the soul of historic structures and are essential for retaining the character of a historic home. This 2-day workshop includes:
- Instruction on how to maintain and restore historic wood windows.
- Hands-on practice of repair skills like unsticking windows, cutting glass, putty glazing, epoxy paint removal, painting wood windows, weatherstripping, and hardware adjustments.
- Lessons on restoration safety, window maintenance, and window efficiency.
What to expect:
- Breakfast pastries and coffee, a light lunch, and bottled water will be provided on both days, at no extra cost.
- This workshop will take place outdoors to the greatest extent possible, and participants should wear weather-appropriate, work-safe clothing and closed-toe shoes.
- Participants must bring their own N95 mask, work gloves, and safety glasses.
- In the case of severe weather, the workshop may be rescheduled to June 1 & 2.
