Carpentry Demonstration at Historic Jamestowne

Building a fort proved to be a necessity for the colonists within a month of their arrival in 1607. In 1994 Jamestown Rediscovery archaeologists found evidence of the trenches and post molds from the original palisade lines. Carpenter Danny Whitten will demonstrate the tools and methods used by the first colonists to build everything from the fort walls to stools and chests.
