A New VISTA Joins the Team

Did you know?

Each year, a new AmeriCorps VISTA member joins The Campaign to help its mission to expand and strengthen careers in the historic trades. “VISTA” is actually an acronym for “Volunteers In Service To America.” This national program places individuals with local organizations to serve for 12-months, helping that organization expand capacity while they gain valuable profession experience. The Campaign partners with Conservation Legacy’s Stewards Individual Placements to bring AmeriCorps VISTAs onto the team.

As Jordan Riggs–The Campaign’s first VISTA–completes her 12-month term, we welcome to the team our second VISTA, Eva Parry. Eva grew up in Florida, where she discovered her love of history through visiting local historic sites and researching different time periods. She has called Annapolis, Maryland her home the past few years. She recently graduated high school and is eager to spend her next year as an AmeriCorps VISTA. In this capacity, she will help The Campaign expand its K – 12 educational offerings, connect young people to training and career opportunities, and help deliver new trainings and workshops throughout Maryland.

Eva enjoys reading, writing, and learning about history. Previously, she volunteered for three years at Historic London Town and Garden, where she gave tours to the public. She is excited to learn more about Maryland’s historic sites and think about her future in historic preservation.
