First held at Hot Springs in 2014, “Dollars & Sense of Historic Preservation” is a day-long program designed to emphasize the economic benefits of preservation, provide information and resources on preservation incentives, and encourage the use of incentives through practical, real-world examples. The program is designed to meet the needs of chambers of commerce, private and public community and economic development organizations, realtors, owners of historic properties, planners, bankers, municipal officials, county leaders, and anyone with an interest in community and economic development. Main topics: preservation basics, grants, federal and historic tax credits, and building reuse.
