Dollars & Sense of Historic Preservation
First held at Hot Springs in 2014, “Dollars & Sense of Historic Preservation” is a half-day program designed to discuss the economic potential of historic building rehabilitation as well as tools for redevelopment. The agenda includes presentations on the National Register of Historic Places, Federal and State Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits, Historic Preservation Restoration Grants, Conservation Easements, Qualified Opportunity Zones, Solar Energy for historic buildings and the Solar Tax Credit, and local success stories. The program is designed to meet the needs of chambers of commerce, private and public community and economic development organizations, realtors, owners of historic property, planners, bankers, municipal officials, county leaders, and anyone with an interest in community and economic development.
