Learn how to save, repair and weatherproof your wood windows during this hands-on workshop being held October 7, 14, and 15.
During the first session you’ll gain knowledge on how to date old wood windows, how they’re constructed, how to remove the sashes, how they can be repaired and weather-stripped, and why they’re an important feature to preserve on your house. (see the before and after photos above). Saturday and Sunday you will work on your own windows (or we will provide one) to learn how to strip paint and glazing putty, how to replace damaged or rotted sections, how to replace glass and how to install weather stripping to make your old windows as weather tight as new ones.
